The mission of Gallop NYC is to better the lives of children and adults with disabilities through the benefits of therapeutic horseback riding. Group lessons are led by certified instructors, with each lesson designed to suit the physical and cognitive abilities of each rider. In this way each student can build skills in an encouraging environment.
Gallop NYC bases its program on good horsemanship and sound riding principles. Over the years, the organization has taught riders with such disabilities as autism, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, traumatic head injuries, pervasive developmental disorders, mental retardation, and those who have suffered emotional trauma.
