The 2 1/2 hour and lesson and tour is perfect for group outings like birthday parties and team-building events.  The staff is incredibly concerned about the safety of its paddlers, and will ensure that your trip on the waters goes as safely and smoothly as possible.

If you're looking for some of the best kayaking Manhattan has to offer, take a trip down to Riverside Park--one of the most spectacular waterfront parks in NYC!  Locals and tourists can also enjoy a ton of outdoor activities like basketball, baseball, handball, roller hockey, skating, tennis, and canoeing.

 

The website contains detailed information about kayaking launch sites in the park, which are open from 10 A.M. until dusk on Tuesdays through Sundays.  The boat basin offers public storage for up to 80 kayaks.  During the spring and summer, free kayak rentals are available at the lower tip of the park on Saturdays and Sundays (weather-permitting).  The park contains limited paid parking, but you can find street parking only a quarter mile away.
