Rose Center for Earth and Space

See the Universe as Never Before!

This captivating science museum focuses on astronomy and related sciences. Visitors will see the large sphere of the Hayden Planetarium through the glass walls before they even enter the museum - one of the most recognizeable scientific landmarks of the city.

The Big Bang theater, located in the bottom half of the sphere, has a large 36 foot screen where you can watch a short video on the theory of the universe's birth. After the video, visitors will wind their way up the Heilbrun Cosmic Pathway - a fascinating display showing the timeline of the universe from big bang to present day. See a show on the dome of the Space Theater, one of the world's top planetariums.  Outside the sphere many more displays teach visitors about the stars, meteors and various country's space programs. A must-visit for all space enthusiasts, this NYC science museum is filled with fun and interesting knowledge.
