SoHo has been the beneficiary of inner city regeneration and, as a result, there are many shops and trendy boutiques worthy of you taking time to investigate, visit, and shop. Almost all of SoHo (26 blocks and 500 buildings) are part of the New York City Cast Iron Historic Area, listed on the National Register of Historical Places. This interesting section of the city is notable for being paved with Belgian blocks (a particular type of cobblestone).
