Eastern State Penitentiary

Eastern State Penitentiary

About the prison
Eastern State Penitentiary is really an exciting and adventurous place. However, it is not recommended for kids under the age of seven. You will be able to go through different rooms and experience what the life of prisoners was like. Some of the most notorious prisoners, like Willie Sutton and Al Capone, were held inside this place.

At the time the building was erected it represented the biggest and most expensive public structure ever constructed, which made it become a model for other prisons worldwide. Today it is listed as a National Historic Landmark.
