The Fort Bedford was constructed during the time of the French and Indian War by British troops with the command of the Colonel Henry Bouquet by the order of the General John Forbes. Fort was one of the string of the British forts and the blockhouses which are designed in order protect the British supply lines on the Forbes Road which is a pioneer trail that is built by the British during the time their invasion of the Ohio Country and campaign against the French garrison at Fort Duquesne.
