The Barnes Foundation

The Barnes Foundation

Gallery and arboretum
The original facility was designed by Paul Cret in 1992. He initially designed a complex of buildings on the land that Albert C. Barnes, the founder of the institution, purchased from the American Civil War veteran Joseph Lapsley Wilson.

On the other hand, the grounds were developed by the founder's wife, Laura Barnes. That is how the splendid Arboretum of the Barnes Foundation was created. The arboretum has also established its own educational program.
